Farnation - what I (and many others) have been crying out for!

Okay, I'm not really sure if I am allowed to post this information, but what the hey! It looks like the Dreamcast will be getting a new RPG late next year... however, it will be a console RPG like no other! It is set to be similar to PC games like Ultima Online and Everquest. If you know what I am talking about, you should be getting pretty excited by now!!! Yes, for the first time ever, it looks like there is going to be a console RPG that will take place on the internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! It will be a completely online game that thousands of people can play on at once, whenever! However, that is not the only thing to be getting excited about!

Farnation is to be set on 5 worlds (not much is clear about these 'worlds' yet), which will each have completely different terrain. But... wait for it... that's not all! In this online world, people will be able to construct their own person to play (picking from different races, sexes, ages and determining many different attributes). Also (and this seems like the best bit to me!) the actual human players themselves will be able to construct towns by building their own shops, houses, libraries, restaurants and many more buildings! Imagine having your own house in an online universe! How amazing would that be? Another thing you will be able to do is construct stations to house ships, airships, stagecoaches, etc, so that you can travel the worlds that are there waiting for you! On top of all this, the graphics are supposed to be rather cool and solid, and it should all run at a good pace!

Oh! And there's more! You will be able to construct parties with other people so you can go around and battle together. There will be an item creator. There will be multiple play modes, party battles and simultaneous online battles!!! There is even the possibility to build empires, trade, buy and sell items with the other people! Interaction with everyone will be an integral part of the game, but how this will be pulled off in an online world is as yet unknown. There will be story-progressing events that occur online as well, and this too is still a mystery!
 
I am afraid there are no screen shots at this time to show you, but as soon as we get some, they will be posted here, on DCS! It is the wonderful Sega who will be publishing the game, but it seems the developer is a mystery! As for release dates, it looks like a late 2001 release for Japan... so expect early 2002 here... maybe a tad later. Oh well. All we have to do now is sit and wait for a year or so... PLEASE, SEGA! RELEASE SOME MORE INFO SOON!!!! PLEEEEAAAASSSE!!!!  [Ed: at this point I had to stop Andrew before he did something dangerous...]
